These are the small worlds I created with paper.

The concept of paper landscapes gradually took shape while the founder Li Yu was working at a toy company in Denmark. In 2020, she returned to Taiwan to establish PAPIRLAB | Paper Space Design, currently selling in selected stores and collaborating with clients extending to Europe, America, as well as South Korea, Hong Kong, and other parts of the world.

PAPIRLAB | Paper Space Design's works are bright, lively, and full of childlike fun. The uniqueness of handmade products makes them very suitable as gifts with special meaning. Combining computer modeling with tactile details, the works present a simple design aesthetic that differs from the complex traditional paper crafts, while also exuding a warm atmosphere due to their handmade nature. Paper is the most suitable material to carry stories, soft and warm, with rich colors and textures. We place many small details in the paper landscapes as hints, allowing everyone to write their own storylines.

Over the past two years, PAPIR LAB has brought Taiwan’s landscapes to life through paper craftsmanship—from narrow alleyway homes to temple courtyards with black dogs, from bougainvillea-covered gas stations to intricate temple architecture. Each scene is designed in our signature style, capturing the essence of everyday life in Taiwan. Within these paper-crafted settings, hidden details await discovery—perhaps a red-and-white striped umbrella or a speeding electric scooter. These scenes have no defined beginning or end; instead, they evoke personal memories, allowing each viewer to weave their own stories into the static landscapes, bringing them to life in their imagination.
